Description

This CAE Blue Phantom half chest model is a half torso in the lateral decubitus position. The patented Simulex insert is ideal for learning image acquisition and interpretation, and practicing the psychomotor skills necessary for ultrasound-guided needle and catheter insertions in a patient with pleural effusions. We designed this model with replaceable anterior and lateral portals to help learners learn chest tube thoracostomy. The Simulex tissue has self-healing properties, allowing for 1000+ punctures when used with an 18-21 gauge needle.

*Note: the lateral and anterior portals are not ultrasoundable, and should be replaced every 10-15 uses.
