Description
New Airway Modules for V2 and V2.1 Airway Management Task Trainers

Learn About What Each Airway Has To Offer
- Angioedema Airway
- Oropharynx and Epiglottis
- Enlarged tongue greatly reduces the space available in the mouth making conventional laryngoscopy more difficult and limits the space available for airway devices.
- Glottic View
- Swelling around the arytenoids and vocal cords narrows the airway making the glottic opening harder to identify and access.
- Used to practice...
- assessing a severely swollen airway.
- difficult laryngoscopy.
- fiber-optic airway navigation.
- awake and nasal fiber-optic techniques.
- Oropharynx and Epiglottis
- Supraglottic Mass/Tumor Airway
- Oropharynx and Epiglottis
- The mass occupies part of the supraglottic space and changes the appearance of normal airway landmarks.
- Learners must identify the remaining anatomy to find a route towards the larynx.
- Glottic View
- The mass obstructs the glottic view and reduces the space available for airway instrumentation.
- Used to practice...
- recognizing distorted airway anatomy.
- maintaining orientation when landmarks are obscured.
- navigating around an airway mass/tumor.
- controlled tube placement through restricted view.
- Oropharynx and Epiglottis
- Epiglottitis Airway
- Oropharynx and Epiglottis
- The epiglottis thickened, enlarged, and difficult to move.
- Normal landmarks are less clear and space available to airway devices is limited.
- Glottic View
- The swollen epiglottis limits the view of the vocal cords and makes access more difficult.
- Used to practice...
- recognizing abnormal epiglottic anatomy.
- working with a restricted airway view.
- careful scope or blade manipulation.
- controlled navigation towards glottic opening.
- Oropharynx and Epiglottis
- Burn/Inhalation Injury Airway
- Oropharynx and Epiglottis
- Swelling and soot change the appearance of the upper airway.
- Normal landmarks are less clear as the airway becomes more distorted.
- Glottic View
- Oedematous tissues reduce the glottic view and leave less space for airway devices.
- Vocal cord closure mechanism can be used to simulate laryngospasm and increase airway difficulty.
- Used to practice...
- recognizing signs of inhalation injury.
- identifying swollen and altered airway anatomy.
- managing a restricted glottic view.
- intubation through a progressively more difficult airway.
- Oropharynx and Epiglottis
