Description

This life-size representation of the respiratory system from the hyoid bone down to the tertiary lobar bronchi, measuring approximately 14 inches long and 6.5 inches wide, was modeled off an adult male.

This 3-D model of the larynx, trachea and bronchial tree, allows for studying the lungs and respiratory system in a unique, hands-on way unattainable by any other method. The model can be removed from its stand and separated into 3 parts. All held together with magnets and metal pegs, the lower half of the trachea and the bronchial tree is one piece, while the upper trachea and larynx is divided long the median plane.

The dissection of the larynx and trachea allows for internal viewing and studying of 28 different anatomical details. Trachea cartilage and annular ligaments can be seen molded into the trachea. To help the studying process, the bronchi of the right and left lobes have been brightly colored to make the distinguishing the bronchopulmonary segments easier.

The hand painted details make this model a great tool for advanced students, health care professionals, especially pulmonologists, otolaryngologist (ENT), speech-language pathologists, and even singing coaches.

Model on its stand is approximately 14.5 inches tall, 9.75 inches wide and 7 inches deep. The area of the hyoid bone measures 2 inches in diameter, the trachea measures 1 inch in diameter and the colorful bronchi measures .25 inches in diameter. The Larynx, Trachea and Bronchi Model on its stand weighs just under 1.5 pounds.

The colors on the bronchial lobes is helpful in learning the left to right side.
