This is the Koken Female Urethral Catheterization Model LM-061. Its designed for students to practice urethral catheterization under very realistic conditions. The model depicts the vulva and urethral openings that are both anatomically correct. The anatomical structure of the genitalia and urethra are precisely simulated so students can practice female catheterization as it is experienced by a real patient. Students learn to recognize the swelling of the bladder through palpation, and the trainee can practice various assessments. When a catheter is inserted through the urethra entering the bladder, artificial urine, simulated with water, will flow from the catheter as it would with a real patient. Any residual urine is confirmed by pressing on the bladder.
