The replica highlights many areas of the cervical vertebrae, including the annulus fibrosus rings around the nucleus pulposus, spinal cord with simulated dorsal and ventral roots, spinal nerves, vertebral arteries, and major bony landmarks of the cervical vertebrae. The model also exposes to the viewer the spinal cord interaction with the bone and its connecting anterior and posterior roots.
