Introducing the Axis Scientific Painted Human Skeleton, a premium addition to our skeleton offerings. Standing 5-ft 6-in tall, this skeleton towers over the competition. He offers an exceptional level of detail, including major and minor anatomical features and structures, right down to the tiniest detail. As an added study feature, the left side of the skeleton features clearly labeled painted origins and insertions for more than 150 muscles, making him a great addition to studies of the muscular system as well.

His skull is easily detachable from the body of the skeleton. The skull features a removable calvarium, or skull cap, secured with pegs as well as magnets for added stability. External hardware is kept to a minimum for an uninterrupted view of the skull. Inside the skull, every suture, foramen, and groove is visible, allowing for a full study of the internal and external structures alike. The left side of the skull features origins and insertions for 48 muscles, clearly labeled for easy identification.

When replaced on the skeleton, the skull sits comfortably on the axis, allowing realistic movement of the skull. The hyoid bone is present, and is easy to study with or without the skull in place. The vertebral column is positioned to replicate the natural curvature of the spine. The skeleton is fully articulated, and can replicate all natural movements at the joints. The arms, attached by bungee cords, can clearly display flexion, extension, abduction and adduction, circumduction of the shoulder, and even pronation and supination of the radial-ulnar joint. Similarly, the legs, attached by metal hardware, can perform all of the movements of the acetebulofemoral joint and knee.

The muscle origins and insertions of the body are also displayed, making this skeleton a great study aid for any classroom or medical environment where study of the muscular system is prized, including medical school, physical therapy, and massage therapy.

Axis Scientific believes studying science is for everyone, and that detailed anatomical models should not break the bank. With our selection of fascinating and informative models, plus our expert customer support, we are sure you will find just what you need.

This model uses a pelvic-mounted metal stand on a lightweight plastic, 5-caster wheel base for sturdiness.

    Great Quality

Posted by Rebecca on Apr 10th 2017

My old painted skeleton broke. I was going to buy the exact same one when I stumbled upon this model. I was extremely impressed by the quality. I also was not expecting such a great manual to come with it too.

    Skeleton Help

Posted by Malcolm H on Nov 22nd 2016

Got this skeleton for our school lab, but since the Coronavirus shut everything down this guy has been at home with me, and since its lifesize and so detailed I have been able to show it off when we do classroom meetings online.
