This exceptional anatomical model offers a great view of the human shoulder joint and its connective ligaments. The model offers limited flexibility, while still maintaining the level of anatomical detail Axis Scientific delivers with every model. The model is constructed with flexible plastic ligaments, each of which is attached with clear plastic, almost invisible, screws. These allow for an uninterrupted view of the shoulder's construction. The top portion of the humerus is visible, as is the scapula and clavicle. The entire structure is mounted securely on a plastic base.

Axis Scientific offers an in-depth and bargain conscious approach to anatomical study. The line has been designed with anatomy professionals and students in mind. We are sure you will love the models from day one!

Made by Axis Scientific and backed by a 3 year warranty. Measures 8x6x7 inches, and weighs just under 1 lb.

Q & A

Q: Can I order this model in a left shoulder version?
A: No, unfortunately this, like all shoulder models, is only available in a right shoulder version.

Q: Does the model come off the stand?
A: This model is secured to the base with a threaded bolt and nut. Technically, yes, you can remove it from the base, however we recommend you keep the model securely fashioned to the base to avoid damaging the model. Keeping it mounted on the base also ensures flexibility is easy to demonstrate.

A: This model pairs well with an anatomical chart, such as our collection of shoulder charts:

Muscles of the Shoulder and Back Laminated Anatomy Chart
Anatomy And Injuries Of The Shoulder Anatomical Chart
Shoulder And Elbow Anatomical Chart
Workout For Your Shoulders Laminated Fitness Poster
Joints and Ligaments Laminated Anatomy Chart
The Upper Extremity Laminated Anatomy Chart

Many people also like to acquire multiple joint models, to complete their collection. The Axis Scientific Flexible Elbow Joint, the Axis Scientific Functional Knee Joint, and the Axis Scientific Flexible Hip Joint all make great additions to your well-rounded joint model collection. We recommend that users collect models from the same brand to ensure a consistent learning or consultation experience.

Q: Does this model come labeled?

A: No, this model is not labeled, but all of the structures of the shoulder, can be easily viewed.

Q: Does this model have a muscled version?

A: While this particular model does not have a muscled version, we do have the Muscled Shoulder Joint Model.

Q: Can the ligaments be removed from this model?

A: While the ligaments can be removed, they are not meant to be. Once they are removed you will not be able to put them back onto the model.

Great level of detail on this flexible shoulder. Not something that has full articulation, but gives just enough flex to see how things should be moving.

Shoulder is good for display purposes. It doesn't offer full range of motion, but it still represents the structure very well.

I needed a new shoulder model for my clinic. Was going to go with a more expensive model, but I saw this one and thought I would give it a shot. Very nicely detailed and the range of motion helps me to describe things to my physical therapy patients easier. The manual that comes with it really helps out too.
