The shoulder joint model offers limited flexibility, while still maintaining the level of anatomical detail Axis Scientific delivers with every model. The model is constructed with flexible plastic ligaments, each of which is attached with clear plastic, almost invisible, screws. These allow for an uninterrupted view of the shoulder's construction. The top portion of the humerus is visible, as is the scapula and clavicle. The entire structure is mounted securely on a plastic base.
The cross-section of the shoulder joint clearly shows the scapula, clavicle, humerus. 1st-5th ribs, lateral cord, subclavian artery, articular cartilage, latissimus dorsi, deltoid, bicep, ligaments, fat, arteries, veins, and dermis. With this relief model, you can also see and feel the textures of the spongy and compact bone material, directional striations of the muscle, smooth ribbing of nerve bundles, and the smooth lumpy fat areas.
