Description
Learn mammalian organ anatomy with the Sheep Kidney Dissection Kit from Anatomy Warehouse!
Perfect for at home, in-classroom, or laboratory dissections, the Sheep Kidney Dissection Kit offers a view of both external and internal anatomy of a mammalian organ. The kit includes a preserved plain injected sheep kidney specimen, PPE, medical-grade tools, and an educational dissection guide. This kit features the sheep kidney to provide an understanding of the kidney’s physiology and function. Sheep kidney anatomy is a close comparison to human anatomy as its structures are similar to most mammals, including humans.
Learn and practice the step-by-steps of animal dissection and comparative anatomy with this introductory Sheep Kidney Dissection Kit. This kit provides a hands-on learning experience for students in biology, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, and zoology. The finely preserved specimen allows for observation and study of the internal and external structures and parts of the organ. Use the physical anatomy of the specimen to gain an understanding of the kidney’s main function in the body. The kit also includes a detailed educational guide that outlines and illustrates the full dissection process from beginning to end.
This kit is perfect for students in an introductory science or biology course. Each item in this kit allows the student to learn safely, effectively, and successfully:
- 1 Preserved sheep kidney specimen, plain injected
- 1 Pair of disposable gloves, medium
- 1 Disposable apron, one size
- 1 Mammal kidney dissection guide
- 1 Foam tray, 11.75” x 7.25”, small
- 1 Dissection toolkit with tools and case
Shelf Life and Storage
Take Care of Your Specimen
Specimens should be stored at room temperature and out of direct sunlight whether they are opened or unopened.
While dissecting your specimen, spraying the specimen with holding fluid will help keep the specimen moist, which will allow you to maximize your time with the specimen.
After dissection, spray your specimen generously with holding fluid before storing your specimen in an air-tight container. By following these guidelines, you can reduce the number of bacteria, mold, or other air particles on the specimen that will help inhibit mold growth.
Properly Store Your Specimen for Longevity
Unopened specimens are guaranteed to stay fresh for up to a year. With proper storage, this specimen can last for years if you store your specimen out of direct sunlight and keep it at room temperature.
Opened specimens are under no guarantee. Once a specimen is opened, it is up to you to care and store the specimen properly to extend the life of the specimen. Typically, our specimens should last a couple of weeks when properly cared for.
