Q & A
Q: Is Sam as flexible as the Fred Skeleton?
A: Yes. Not only is Sam as flexible as Fred, but he also includes painted markings that show where the muscles attach to the bones (also known as "muscle insertion"; and "muscle origin"; points). On top of that, the major joints on Sam's right side include artificial ligaments that give you a much better way to demonstrate life-like movement in the arm, hip, and leg. For these reasons and more, that's why Sam is Super!
Q : Why would someone choose a hanging stand?
A : Most 3B skeletons are offered on a pelvic and a hanging stand. Hanging stands are hung using a hook on the top of the skeleton's skull. People choose the hanging stands for different reasons. Mostly, it's preference, but some customers have told us that they like being able to easily remove the skeleton from the stand without fiddling with hardware.
Q: What color is the dust bag that is included?
A: The dust bag is black.
Q: Does the occipital bone articulate on Atlas? And Atlas on C2?
A: All of the vertebrae are individual, and the spine is flexible. It can be moved into position, but may not articulate realistically.
Q: Do the elbow joints move?
A: For the elbow joints, the right side with the ligaments articulates, but it is very stiff. It is more for showing the actual ligaments. The left elbow is just wired together but does articulate.
