The Suture Skills Trainer was developed with the help of Dr. Michael Zenn, Director of the Human Tissue Lab at Duke University. This suturing kit features a realistic tissue pad that consists of 5 anatomically correct tissue layers for suturing practice. Perfect for practicing suturing outside of class, this suture training kit is perfect for med students, veterinary students, and dental students.
This suturing practice kit includes a realistic tissue pad. Each individual layer is identifiable and has anatomically correct color, strength, firmness, and feel. The 5 anatomically correct tissue layers include:
- Epidermis
- Dermis
- Subcutaneous fat
- Fascia
- Muscle
The unique materials used in VATA’s suture kit allow for practicing superficial, subcuticular and complex deep wound suturing and with proper tension, the suture will not "tear through". The suturing practice pad moves just like real human tissue when making an incision or when suture tension is applied. Sutures in the suture practice skin can be removed and you can reuse the site numerous times.
The surgical suture practice kit is also supplied with a proprietary tensioning device for use with the tissue pad, so the user can adjust the distance between the two cut tissue edges. This offers the user a more realistic feel and increases the challenge when closing the tissue under varying degrees of tension. The instruments are of a much higher quality than those generally supplied with suturing kits.

1-Year Warranty
All merchandise manufactured by VATA, Inc. is warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year from the product’s shipped date. This limited warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship in the VATA manufactured products except:
- Damage resulting from a failure to maintain and store the VATA product in accordance with product instructions, including failure to properly clean and store the product
- Damage resulting from abuse, neglect, accident, misuse or incorrect use of the VATA product
- Damage resulting from a repair or attempted repair of the VATA product
This limited warranty does not apply to any products offered by VATA that are not manufactured by VATA, but by other parties. These products may be warrantied by the manufacturer of the product.
