Customers supplied feedback on VATA's original Venipuncture Traing Aid and VATA listened! Now we offer both beginning and advanced venipuncture models to move a student's educational journey forward.
The original model has two veins that were barely discernable in size and depth positioning. The veins were also fairly large and easy to access. This model didn't represent real life venipuncture obstacles, so clinicians requested a trainer that was more difficult.
VATA went back to the drawing board and designed a new simulation model. This re-designed product makes the veins more lifelike by shaping them smaller and placing them deeper. This more realistic simulation requires advanced skill and was created to polish students' technique and improve confidence.
Both simulators can be used as teaching models. Beginning students start out honing their skills with the easier, larger veins in the original model, then progress to the more difficult smaller and deeper veins in the newer model as they improve.
When training on this model, the skin rolls as the vein is palpated and the tell-tale "pop" is felt when the needle enters the vein. This product is a must-have for hospitals and home health facilities to ensure that the competency of all staff members is continually assessed, demonstrated and improved.
