Overview:

The Ultrasound Trainer Dog Bladder is an advanced training tool designed specifically for veterinary professionals and students to practice and enhance their ultrasound skills in a realistic, controlled environment.

This trainer simulates the canine bladder, providing an authentic experience for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and students in veterinary schools to master ultrasound techniques and diagnostics.

Key Features:

Realistic Simulation

  • Constructed from high-quality, ultrasound-compatible materials that mimic the texture and acoustic properties of a real canine bladder.
  • Detailed anatomical accuracy ensures that users can identify and understand the bladder's structure and surrounding organs.

Versatile Training Applications

  • Ideal for training in bladder scanning, catheter placement, and cystocentesis.
  • Allows for practice in identifying bladder stones, tumors, and other pathologies.

Educational Value

  • Essential for veterinary schools to provide hands-on learning experiences without the ethical concerns of using live animals.
  • Enhances the learning process for students by offering repeated practice opportunities, thus reinforcing their skills and confidence.

  • Enables recording and review of ultrasound sessions for further analysis and learning.

Applications:

For Veterinary Schools:

  • An indispensable educational tool that bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
  • Supports curriculum development by providing a reliable and consistent training method for ultrasound diagnostics.

For Veterinary Technicians:

  • Offers a safe and effective way to gain proficiency in ultrasound procedures, which is crucial for supporting veterinarians in clinical settings.
  • Boosts confidence and competence in handling complex diagnostic tasks.

Veterinary Practices:

  • Enhances the diagnostic capabilities of practicing veterinarians by providing a platform for continual skill development.
  • Reduces the learning curve associated with real-life clinical procedures, leading to improved patient outcomes.

Summary:

This training model of the lower body of a medium-sized dog provides comprehensive training in ultrasound examination of the canine bladder. Four different inserts cover the major procedures/diagnoses, allowing training in diagnostic skills. The conditions usually have similar symptoms, so ultrasound examination is useful to obtain the actual diagnosis. Externally identical inserts require diagnostic skills to identify pathology.

The following inserts are included in the practice model:

  • Normal Anatomy / Cystocentesis.
    • This insert allows the bladder to be located under ultrasound and the anatomy identified. The insert can be filled with water allowing for withdrawal of fluid. The insert has self-healing properties to needle track marks. We recommend a rotational insert with high usage.
  • Bladder stones
    • Undiagnosed bladder stones are very painful for the animal and can even lead to death. This insert allows the bladder stones to be located and identified so that the practitioner can learn what they look like under ultrasound.
  • Bladder cancer
    • Bladder cancer can be very painful and life threatening. This insert allows the practitioner to practice locating a tumor with ultrasound.
  • Inflammation of the bladder (cystitis)
    • Bacterial infection of the lower urinary tract is usually painful and should be treated urgently. With this insert, the practitioner learns to recognize and diagnose cystitis.
