Description
Students use this KOKEN Tracheostomy Management Simulator to practice tracheostomy procedures, replacing cannulas and performing suction through a cannula. Students can divide the model into two sections. The trachea section is transparent, allowing for positive confirmation of the state of cannula insertion and the position of the suction catheter during suction. Koken also provides a special cannula that operates a ventilator connected to a simulated lung in the model. - This model also has many dynamic features. It allows the user to practice the procedures for replacing cannulas. The trachea section is transparent, so the state of inflation of the cuff can be observed, and by using the specially provided cannula, the approximate optimum pressure can be confirmed. The transparent trachea demonstrates how the suction catheter should be positioned, and of how to perform suction of the simulated sputum using the upper part of the cuff. The soft neck surface skin allows students to feel the thyroid cartilage through the skins surface, and the detachable trachea section shows the areas where granulation tends to develop. A ventilator can be operated by attaching the specially provided cannula and connecting a simulated lung. An alarm tone is generated when air leaks occur.
